Biodigesters
We have biodigesters in our Sugar and Milk businesses to generate renewable energy from by-products.
In our biodigesters, we process more than 800,000 tons of by-products per year.
Effluent management and renewable energy generation in our dairy farms
In our dairy farms, we have developed a production model where the manure is used to generate electricity with our biodigesters. In addition, what comes out of the biodigesters returns to the field as biofertilizer, to fertilize the crops and fodder used to feed the cows.

We use sugar cane vinasse to generate biogas and biomethane
We have a biodigester in our sugar cane plants, with which we generate biogas and biomethane from a by-product of the sugar cane-based ethanol generation process. We are currently generating renewable electric power with this biogas.
