Soil carbon

Nature-based solutions aligned with climate change

Soil is one of the world's major carbon sinks. This carbon comes mainly from the photosynthesis of vegetation (forests, grasslands, wetlands and crops/plantations). Land and soil management under conservation criteria could help sequester enormous amounts of carbon. Thanks to the nearly 520,000 hectares we manage, we find ourselves in a privileged position.

New

paradigm

Flecha
In addition to food and renewable energy, the land provides ecosystem services.

New

opportunity

Flecha
Through our Sustainable Model, we are able to adapt our operations with great flexibility.

New

strategy

Flecha
Improving carbon sequestration and reducing the use of agrochemicals.

Adecoagro has great potential to improve carbon sequestration and be part of the global solution.

The stubble and roots accumulated from season to season generate more organic matter in the soil and contribute to the sequestration of carbon.
