Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
All our operations are governed by the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics that establishes the ethical, regulatory and legal standards that shall be complied by all directors, officers and employees of Adecoagro. Further, our suppliers and contractors are expected to follow such standards when fulfilling their contractual obligations.
The Code includes guidelines to avoid conflicts of interest and fraud, and the compliance with specific policies, among which are:
- US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”).
- Policy to report all suspected incidents of inaccurate financial reporting or fraud.
- Policy of claims for breach of the Code.
- Policy of privileged information.
- Policy of confidential information.
All our directors, officers and employees must read the Code and adhere annually to the Certificate of Compliance with the company’s policies. We give training courses to strengthen the contents of the Code on an annual basis. These courses can be presence-based, online or through booklets with relevant information.
Compliance with the Code
To guarantee compliance with the Code, we have a reporting cannel with contact e-mails and telephone numbers in the local language of each country. Such information is provided to our employees through annual training and is available 24 hours.
All reports are kept confidential and anonymous. The Corporate Internal Audit area is involved in the investigation of cases and the Chief Compliance Officer is in charge of presenting the conclusions at the Audit Committee meetings. At the same time, the Board of Directors is informed of the complaints filed and their corresponding resolution through a specific report on the matter.
